WHY CRIMINALIZE KIDS?

Imagine your child is taken away from you in shackles (hand and leg cuffs) and end up on a large plantation (prison) working for less than a dollar an hour and in your attempt to keep in contact with them.  You are subjected to extortion from other plantation owners (Big Corporations) where you’re charged ten dollars a minute for a phone call, and when you try to keep in contact many times you’re forced to travel thru sometimes more than one state.  And find yourself subjected to degraded procedures such as property searches physical pat downs and sometimes full body scans. I know before I mentioned the technological procedures you thought I was talking about the eighteen hundreds and the era of slavery, but no! it’s the present and already some of you are experiencing this contemporary form of slavery or know someone who is, but did you know your children are being prepped for this as early as elementary school.  Why are thousands of U.S minorities blacks and Latinos, being directed and prepped for the criminal justice penal system all across the United States?, is it in order to satisfy corporate investments and demands in the prison industrial complex?

When I was in school  there were fights  almost every day  it’s one of the things you do growing up the principal didn’t call police, they called your parents,  I was also bullied,  ask-countless others and they will tell you the same , what did we do about it you ask? Well After we reached the point where we were fed up, we stood our ground and let’s just say I scratched being bullied off my things to worry about list all without law enforcement involvement.

Today things are different first laws have been put in place to almost restrict parent discipline or properly redirecting of their children almost assure the continuation of a childlike mischievous behavior, next an evil undertone of fear have been spread through the media , projecting  juveniles as unconscionable deviants in society, burning an image of  murderers, rapists, and all-out uncontrollable savages in order to justify adults like criminal conviction  toward  kids, at the same time guaranteeing maximum capacity in state or private run prisons.

While studies have shown there is no scientific research indicates that an increase in the severity of a juvenile punishment decreases the chance of his and her reoffending, several studies have been conducted to examine the crime effect of juvenile incarcerated in adult prisons, and have concluded that upon release juvenile defendants reoffend soon and had a higher rate than offenders who spent their incarceration in a juvenile detention center and the reason for this is because adult prisons have less supervision than juvenile facilities which required a juvenile offender to engage in more criminal behavior in order to survive,  juvenile offenders re-offend because they become accustomed to a life of violence, while being housed in adult prison,  violence become the only way they know how to survive ,the courts instead of shipping juvenile offenders off to adult prisons should take in consideration other means of punishment and incarceration this does not work.
